These award-winning beans are grown in the famous regions of Sul De Minas and Cerrado in Brazil. This 100% chemical-free decaffeination of the coffee bean is done using the world renown Swiss-Water Decaffeination process.
Ethically sourced from the finest growers in the Southeast of the country, our beans are roasted here in the U.K and every bean sold contributes to a huge planting project in the Atlantic Forest ran by the One Tree Planted organisation, who aim to restore more than 15 million hectares of forest by 2050. DESCAFEINADO – Translated from Portuguese, which is the most common language of Brazil, DESCAFEINADO means Coffee without Caffeine. 99.9% of the caffeine is removed from the beans through the washing process before the beans are dried and roasted. This ensures that all the great flavours that typically come from the soil type or growing conditions, (for example) remain the same.
The process is complex, but its ingredients are not: All it takes is Water, Temperature, and Time! What else is great is that the beans can be roasted to any level. The flavour gained from the Roast is unaffected by the decaffeination!
Descafeinado is a full-bodied drink with notes of dark chocolate. Smooth throughout, our dark roast is teeming with all the flavour you would expect from a caffeinated bean, with even less acidity; without keeping you up all night!
