Coffee from Negele Gurbitu in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia, is famous for producing exciting tones to their beans. Often infusing tastes such as cherries, grapes and even wine, these Africans can be found trading coffee as far back as the 1600s.

Grown in altitudes between 1700 and 2000 meters, our coffee is harvested between October and January by teams of sustainably minded individuals that seek to make a difference to the industry.  Roasted in the UK and then responsibly delivered to your door, every product we sell helps us support the incredible charity; Grounds for Health. Who work relentlessly as an aid to the women of Ethiopia, where cervical cancer has disturbingly high mortality rates. Grounds for Health are fighting against this cruel disease alongside multiple projects which you can read about here.

Our Single Origin Beans tell unique stories from their names...

YIRGA – Takes its name by abbreviating the name Yirgacheffe. Arguably, the birthplace of coffee, Yirgacheffe coffee is in many ways, truly unique.

A specialised washing technique means the African Arabica beans are explosively aromatic, and typically have a lighter or more elegant body.

ABABA – Translated in to Amharic, a common language of Ethiopia. ABABA means, flower and is often associated with the country's capital Addis Ababa.  Famous for floral notes to their coffee, the name represents all that grows and blossoms in this speciality sector of Coffee’s history.

Yirga Ababa is a light to medium roast bursting with complexity and intriguing flavours.  Traditional Ethiopian citrus aromas, earthy tones, Earl Grey Tea, and sweet whisky flavours can be detected from this incredibly well balanced, elegant brew despite having a bright acidity.
