Super health rooibos red tea meets the world-renowned Malabar Coast. Infusing ginger, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and peppers, this blend is smooth, sweet and spicy. All the warmth and ceremony of a proper masala chai with none of the caffeine.

THE COAST

The sun is beginning its descent, casting a wide, golden path across the water. On the shore, the market is a landscape of ochre and terracotta. Wooden bins overflow with the wealth of the spice routes: piles of crimson peppercorns, earthy cinnamon bark, and pale green cardamom pods that have traveled these waters for over two thousand years. A figure in an orange robe stands at the water's edge, looking out toward the horizon where the sky meets the Arabian Sea. The light is warm and heavy, turning the baskets of harvest into a vibrant mosaic of deep oranges and burnt reds. There is a rhythm here that has remained unchanged by time, a sense of quiet abundance that arrives with the evening tide.

FROM THE PLANET

The rooibos base, sourced from South Africa’s Cederberg mountains, provides the naturally sweet foundation that carries the Malabar spice repertoire without the caffeine of traditional black tea. Rooibos contains orientin, a flavonoid compound traditionally used for its antioxidant properties and its association with healthy metabolic function. The spice profile draws from a history in Ayurvedic and Chinese traditional medicine that predates modern clinical study. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) contains gingerols, studied for their role in supporting healthy digestion and circulation. Cinnamon, harvested from the bark of Cinnamomum verum, provides cinnamaldehyde traditionally used for blood sugar regulation and natural warmth. Cardamom contributes 1,8-cineole, which studies suggest supports respiratory function. Black and white pepper (Piper nigrum) provide piperine, an alkaloid studied for its ability to enhance bioavailability and nutrient absorption. Clove and nutmeg complete the blend with their antimicrobial depth and warming aromatic complexity.

Rooibos, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black pepper, organic natural flavours. Leaves from: India, Thailand and South Africa. Caffeine free. Naturally vegan. No artificial additives. No allergens from the UK 14 major allergen list. Produced in a facility that handles nuts and various botanical ingredients.

HOW TO BREW

Water temperature: 95 to 100 degrees C. Freshly boiled. Quantity: 1 heaped teaspoon per cup, approximately 2.5g. Steep time: 4 to 5 minutes. Brew with oat milk or dairy milk for a full masala chai experience. Caffeine free.
