A Pekoe Gunpowder green tea rolled into tight pellets that unfurl slowly in the cup, charged with a genuine bergamot burst. This is not a quiet suggestion of citrus but an actual zesty brightness that opens the cup entirely. It is an Earl Grey that means it, perfect for those who want a refreshing alternative to traditional black tea blends.

THE MACAW

In the canopy, the macaw moves between levels of green so dense that most colour disappears entirely. Not here. That scarlet is not decoration. It is communication, a language of presence evolved over millions of years in a place that rewards being seen. In the rainforest everything speaks, and the macaw speaks loudest. Greener than Grey is named as a statement. The bergamot announces itself from the first steep and does not soften until the last sip. Some cups whisper, but this one does not.

FROM THE PLANET

Pekoe Gunpowder is one of the oldest processed green teas (Camellia sinensis), with pellets that resemble 18th century gunpowder. Sri Lankan and Albanian leaves are blended for their structural ability to carry the essential oils of Citrus bergamia. Bergamot is one of the few citrus sources to have generated research interest beyond flavour, with studies suggesting effects on mood and metabolic function. This has been part of Mediterranean life for centuries. Combined with green tea catechins, this blend offers a cup with something to say.

INGREDIENTS

Green tea (Camellia sinensis), cornflower petals, organic natural flavours. No allergens from the UK 14 major allergen list present. Produced in a facility that handles nuts and various botanical ingredients.

HOW TO BREW

Water temperature: 75 to 80°C. Not boiling. Quantity: 1 heaped teaspoon per cup, approximately 2.5g. Steep time: 2 to 3 minutes. Brew to 80 percent strength for up to three cups from a single measure.
