THE BLEND
Fragrant, playful, and more sophisticated underneath than it first suggests: this blend features Orange Pekoe from Sri Lanka with bergamot, wild rose petals, blush pink cornflower petals, and a sweet vanilla finish. It is everything an Earl Grey can be when it commits fully to the occasion.
THE PARTY
Some tea parties have a dress code, a seating plan, or cakes arranged from smallest to largest. This is not that party. The Grey Hatter runs on its own logic, its own hours, and its own particular brand of glamour. Reimagined as something slightly more chaotic and considerably more floral than the original, it invites the drinker to pull up a chair because the tea is already brewed. Whether you arrive on time is irrelevant.
FROM THE PLANET
The Ceylon teas of Sri Lanka's Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula, and Uva regions are among the most aromatic black teas (Camellia sinensis) in the world. Bergamot, from the Citrus bergamia fruit of Southern Italy, is increasingly studied for its effect on mood and mental ease. Wild rose has been used across Eastern and European traditional practice for its calming and anti-inflammatory properties. The vanilla works in quiet harmony with the bergamot, softening the citrus into something rounder and more enveloping.
INGREDIENTS
Black tea (Camellia sinensis), rose petals, cornflower petals, organic natural flavours. No allergens from the UK 14 major allergen list present. Produced in a facility that handles nuts and various botanical ingredients.
HOW TO BREW
Water temperature: 95 to 100 degrees C. Freshly boiled. Quantity: 1 heaped teaspoon per cup, approximately 2.5g. Steep time: 3 to 4 minutes. A splash of oat milk works particularly well here. Three cups from a single measure at around 80 percent strength.
