THE BLEND
Strong, powerful, and floral: this high-grown Orange Pekoe from Sri Lanka features generous bergamot and cornflower petals. The delicate citrus notes that follow brighten everything, creating a complexity that builds in the cup and earns every bit of its reputation.
THE MASK
An ornate Venetian masquerade mask is half-buried in rich orange botanical florals and dark foliage. You cannot quite tell who is behind it, and that is entirely the point. This tea presents itself beautifully and reveals itself slowly, the way the best things usually do. There is more going on here than first appears, and it rewards the time you give it.
FROM THE PLANET
The bergamot in this blend comes from fully ripened Citrus bergamia fruit, providing a sweet and rounded finish. Bergamot has been the subject of sustained research into its polyphenol content and its association with healthy cholesterol levels and cognitive clarity. Combined with the theaflavins and thearubigins of high-grown Ceylon black tea (Camellia sinensis): this cup carries real functional depth beneath its style. It presents well and delivers on everything it promises.
INGREDIENTS
Black tea (Camellia sinensis), cornflower petals, organic natural flavours. No allergens from the UK 14 major allergen list present. Produced in a facility that handles nuts and various botanical ingredients.
HOW TO BREW
Water temperature: 95 to 100 degrees C. Freshly boiled. Quantity: 1 heaped teaspoon per cup, approximately 2.5g. Steep time: 3 to 4 minutes. A shorter steep gives you something delicate, while the full four minutes allows the bergamot to open fully. Three cups from a single measure at around 80 percent strength.
